Chapter 31 - Bundle of Toys ONE SHOT

Chapter 31 :

The mellow stars lustered the sky periodically, sending a secluded message to the moon. As hushed as the night was being, the atmosphere wanted to remain unexpressed.

Nicki postured herself in a chair in front of the bed, reposing her legs on the leg rest and leaning sideways to position her head on the pillow. Her curly hair was pinned up nicely in bobby pins.

Far into the night, she anticipated a call from her one and only. He was on his way home from a protracted meeting concerning the music function. Moments later, she grabbed her ringing phone beaming at the caller i.d. It was him.

"Babe, hi! I'm glad you called. I hope you'll be here soon. I miss you so much."

"Hey honey. I'll be there in like fifteen minutes baby. What are you up to?"

"Uh, nothing much. Just waiting for you, laying my head on a pillow."

"You tired? Your head hurts you?"

"No, it's just that this pillow is so freaking soft. You know, my favorite pillow. You bought it for me."

"Oh that one..."

"Yeah..."

"So! What are you wearing?"

"What babe?"

"Your clothes--what do you have on?"

"Uh, some shorts and a green t-shirt."

"Some short shorts?"

"Yes. Shorts!" she laughed. "Why?"

"I was just wondering. It would be a better image in my mind if you described it to me, that's it."

"Oh...that's weird."

"Hm, you really think?"

"Yes. Behave now. How was your meeting?"

"Prolonged but it was okay."

"Aw, sorry to hear that babe. Listen, your food is in the oven and I need you to let Dom and Daul from the basement because I'm too lazy to do it myself and I might fall asleep, okay?"

He softly chuckled and said, "Sure thing. I'll see you in a few. Bye boo."

"Bye Love." She hung up the phone with a smile on her face. She laid there staring at her TV screen amazed at what was capturing her eye.

Drake clamored his keys, searching for the one to open the front door which wasn't as simple because it was dark and Nicki hadn't turned on the outside lights for him to see. He was finally able to unlock the door, stepping in and closing the door behind him. There was one light on in the hallway off to the side of the house. He sat down his bag and walked towards the basement. He heard the two dogs frolicking which made him laugh for the second time. Once the door was halfway opened, both dogs ran up the stairway assailing him. His dog jumped on him trying to taste his face, but Drake removed the dog off of him. He noticed what they were wearing. The boy had a shirt that said "Big brother" and the girls said "Little big sister." Unconcerned, he strutted to the oven to get his dinner being that he was starved. Nicki was preparing herself to reach downstairs after she heard his keys so she slowly crept downstairs. He stopped in front of the oven, looking over to Dominick and Dauley who were staring at him waiting. He reached into the oven and examined a round, colorful plate. It had hand sized glazed cinnamon bun on it. "A bun for dinner?" he questioned the dogs. "Welp, it looks good."

"Yes babe," she said stepping of the last step, coming off the railing. "Not only is there a bun in that oven, there's one in here too," she stated pulling up shirt and massaging her abdomen. "Congratulations daddy." She pained her cheekbones grinning.

"Really?" he asked closing the oven. "We're having a baby?"

"Yes babe! We're going to have a baby!"

He was ecstatic. He bolted over to her and embraced her, lip locking and rubbing her back. She lifted her legs from the ground and wrapped them around him, not wanting to let go.

"This is like freaking Christmas! Who did you tell?!?"

"I haven't told anyone. I figured you should be the first--well the second to know, right?"

"Right."

"Come on," she said. He put her down and took her hand.

"I love you baby," he announced.

"I love you too."

She walked him in to the living room. He sat down on the one seater and reached out his hands for her to sit on him. She did letting her arms hug his neck. Agilely, he kissed her head as she laid it on him.

"Are you tired?" he asked.

"No, not really," she yawned. "How ironic of that to happen after you asked me but no I'm actually not."

"Haha, right. So when do you plan to tell everyone?"

"Well... I'm going to wait a few weeks. It might not be safe to tell now. I don't even know who I'm telling first. This is all just so breathtaking but I'm so excited."

"Here too. Well whenever you're ready, I'm right at your shoulder."

"Thanks love."

"You're welcome. So let me ask you, anything specific you want?"

"I don't really care about that. It's a baby and I'm happy about that itself," she smiled. "What are you looking for?"

"Uh, I don't know. I'm grateful for whatever.."

"That's sweet," she smiled.

He kissed her again. "Did you eat?"

"Yeah."

"Are you telling the truth?"

"Yes Babe!"

"Oh because I know how you skip. That has to stop."

"No I don't. You're just not always around but I promise I'll continue to be good."

"Alright good. No excuses. Let me go get this bun. I'm starving."

"No," she laughed. "Your dinner is actually in the microwave. Don't worry about that."

"Oh I see. Well thanks again though. You're so sweet."

A few weeks later...

"Are you feeling okay? You ready?" Drake asked Nicki standing on the other side of the secured door. He had a medium sized bag over his shoulder. Both came from the studio, now standing in front of Mama Carol's house. She looked a bit apprehensive but through it all she kept a subdued smirk along her profile. He raised her hand and kissed it before leaving it and turning back towards the door.

"I'm okay babe. I'm ready."

"Good. Let's do this then," he said before ringing the doorbell.

It was nearing three 'o' clock as they waited for a few seconds for someone to open the door. The door gradually swayed open and standing on the other side was Macaiah. He had on some gray sweatpants and a white t-shirt. They all smiled at each other before any of them spoke.

"Hi baby," Nicki said extending her arms and looping them around his back. He patted her head as she squeezed him.

"Hey Nicki, hey Drake," he replied putting his fist up to Drake's. "Get in here." He stepped back pushing the door and letting them into the house. Once he closed the door, he averted to see them standing there looking at him.

"Where's mom and dad?" Nicki asked.

"Oh... mom is uh, in the back fluffing her flowers and dad said he'll be right back. He uh, went to the store to get something for mom."

"Okay, well I need you to help me with something."

"Sure. What is it?"

"Okay," she sighed sitting her purse on the couch and grabbing the bag Drake had over his shoulder. "We're going upstairs." Drake winked at her, Nicki nodded her head saying she was ready and they went to different directions.

Upstairs, Nicki sat the bag on the bed leaving a dazed look on Macaiah's little face. She picked it up from the bottom and shook everything out. She spread the toys along the bed. He came closer to figure out what was going on. She picked up a pacifier and held it out for him to grab. He did so.

"A pacifier? Are you babysitting?" he asked.
She shook her head no.
"Then what is this for? Is mommy babysitting?"

"No Caiah. What you're going to do is sit on this chair next to mommies door. Drake... or myself will get her to come up here. I mean, you will because you're in the room. Anyway, I want you to sit here with the pacifier then I want you to give it to her and if she ask you something, mention my name about it, okay? You understand?"

"So if she tell me to take it out my mouth, I could say 'Nicki told me to put in there and she told me not to take it out?'

"Why would you put it in your mouth?"

"I might get bored."

She sighed heavily. "No. Just don't do that and if she says why, then you say 'ask her.' Okay?"

"Got you."

"Thank you so much." She continued to organize the toys on the bed.

"Hey Nicki?"

"Yes?"

"Why are you doing this, anyway?"

"Well Cai," she said taking his hand and squatting to his level. "Drake and I are... going to be a mom and dad!"

He jumped slithering his hand from hers. She tilted her head before grabbing him by the waist and stopping him. He was close to screaming. "Cai! You have to be quiet. Stop jumping!"

"I'm going to be an uncle," he sang. "Yayyy!"

"Well then. Looks like I certainly have your approval."

Downstairs out back, Mama Carol took once last glance at her flowers before going back inside her house. By this time, Drake was on his way up the steps to find Nicki. He immediately found her standing in the hallway with her hand on her hip. The door to her moms room was open and Cai said right next to the door whirling the pacifier off his hands. Drake maneuvered to her and shook his head asking if she got everything ready. She shook her head yes and smiled. "Where's Macaiah? Did you tell him everything."

"He sitting right there," she pointed. "I told him. Did my mom come back in?"

"Yeah, I think she JUST came back in."

"Positive?" A car door from outside was shut, but none really paid attention to it.

"Yeah, listen." He stood still watching her. Indeed they heard little noises coming from below."

"Are we going to wait till your dad comes back?"

"Nooo. It'll probably be too late. I was hoping they'd both be here, but..." she shrugged and walked over to where Caiah was to tell him to begin the process.

"Alright, come on."

Both walked into a guest room near the steps so the echoes could be heard. He shut the door slightly leaving the door behind. After a few seconds, they heard the music rise, thumping.

Mama Carol jumped out of her skin, hearing the loud music from above. She called for Macaiah, but got no answer. Her gloves were removed from her hands and she sat them on the table. She called again, but heard singing and jumping. By then, Mr. Robert was in front of the door, getting his key and pushing it in. Tired of yelling, she threw off her apron and leaped up the steps. Since the door was already wide open, it didn't take any force at all.

"Macaiah! Get your behind down from there!" She grabbed the remote and turned the music down. "Why is there a pacifier in your mouth? Where did you even get that? Why is all this stuff on my bed? Where did these-," she picked up a teddy bear. "Oh my gosh."

"Oh sorry mom. Nicki gave it to me."

Mama Carol held up her finger. "Nicki? Your sister is here? Your sister did this?! Where she at?"

Macaiah paused before answering. They heard someone calling "Baby" from outside the door. It was Nicki. She called for Drake even being that they were in the same room.

"Onika?" her mom called stepping away from her bed. "Onikaa?"

"Yes mom?" Nicki said coming from out the guest room and walking into her moms room. Mama Carol was puzzled.

"You did all this?"

"Yes," she said nervously. "I think you missed something." Nicki walked over to the edge of the bed and directed her moms eyes to a card. She picked up the card and gave it to her mom.

"What is-" She gasped reading the middle of the card. Drake and Mr. Robert came behind Mama Carol. "You're pregnant? My baby is pregnant? I'm going to be a grandma?" she laughed trying not to cry.

"Yes. Congratulations Grandma and Grandpa."

Mama Carol turned around to see Robert standing there with Drake. "Oh honey," she cried into her husbands arms. "We're going to be grandparents. Onika, you really don't know how long I've been waiting for this." She let go of her husband and hugged Drake.

"Aw," she said.

"Congratulations!" Father Robert said still amused.

Later that Day...

"Babe, I really don't feel good. Can we do this tomorrow or something. I want to go home."

"Yeah baby, what's wrong?"

"I just feel all over the place."

"You're light headed?"

"Pretty much."

"Alright let's go please then. I don't want you to pass out. Can I stop by the store? I can get you some Gatorade and stuff."

"Okay. I can lean my head back. I'll be okay, thank you."

"You're welcome." He took her hand, nearing the door, and getting her settled in. He closed the door and strolled over to the drivers side.

Drake glanced at her laying on the couch with her eyes closed. Her feet were across his lap. As soon as they got back from the store, she dived right on the couch. Now she was close to actually being sleep. She hadn't moved since she laid there. Lightly, he scooted close to her and rubbed her leg. She wasn't sleep. She slipped her fingers inside of his hand, but her eyes still shut.

"I'm under the impression that you want to sleep for a couple hours?"

"Uh, well yeah just a few."

"I'm worried. Can I get you something?"

"No. Can I lay on top of you? I can get to sleep faster," she mumbled.

"Of course you can."

She got up letting him lay straight facing the television. She hugged onto him, laying her head below his chin and kissing it. "Thank you babe."

"You're welcome. Just rest your head."

"Kay..."

Drake scans her napping. Her hair smoothed against his chest. His hand slides down and rises her shirt feeling her bones slightly, and feeling the way the expand with every breathe taken. His hands were warm, and her skin was soft. He reaches behind and below him to grab a blanket to cover her denuded skin. She's so cute.

In her dreams, she regaled her humblest supporters with a video chat. Somewhere's she's never been before. A big spacious room with no more than twelve people. That was odd. She looked over to see an adolescent drooling, nearly falling out the metal seat. So she chuckles. One raises their hand, but being left ignored. Nicki turned her head. In all strangeness, the darkness cast everything out. He walked toward her looking mischievous. "What are you doing?"
"They've called us to come and take you. Say goodbye to your little fans."
"What are you talking about? What?"
"The mental asylum."
"I'm not going anywhere! Get your hand off of me!" They gripped her up out the chair. She bit like a She fights to be free from all arms. Her lungs flared for air. She kicks the air and attempts to wiggle out, but nothing helps. The one muscular dude lifts her and throws her in the truck with no care.

On the outside of her dreams, Drake was on the phone speaking to his mother.
"Hey."

"Why are you whispering?" she asks.

"Nic is napping but she's close to my mouth. How are you ma?" His fingers take a stroll down her hair.

"Awww! Well I'm fine, but I would be better if--didn't you say you were coming over? That's why I called you. You forget?"

"Oh no, ma. My bad. I forgot to tell you we'll be delayed a little."

"OH okay-"

"Dammit!" he said.

"What?"

"Sorry, I freaking bite my tongue."

"Hah, sorry son."

"Oh so you laughing?"

"No! Something in my throat. Anyway, I'm not going to take up your time, especially if I'll see you in a few. Give sweetie a kiss for me until I see her."

"It's okay but I sure will."
---
She sat her head up blinking owlishly, strengthened from her nap. She rubbed her eyes free from crust then looked up to him. He smiles at her, lining his finger down her back.

"Aye boo. How was your little nap?"

"It was cool. I feel like, a thousand times better. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Come closer," he voiced. "Give me a kiss." She leaned up and pressed her lip deeply onto his. Drake sucked on her bottom lip, smirking beforehand.

"Mhm," she keened.

"That's from me. Now here's from Mama Sandi." He kissed her cheek.

"Huh?"

"She told me to give you a kiss for her."

"Oh my gosh, are we going?"

"That's if you really feel like it."

"Yes!" she shot up. "Let us go."

"Okay," he laughed.

She headed up level and he dashed behind her, picking her feet of the ground, leaving her legs jangle in the air. The light was off in their room, but Drake decided to leave it off.

When they were done, Drake stood near the front door waiting for her to come down the steps. She was just grabbing her bag and turning off the lights. She trailed down the steps. His eyes started below from her gray boots all the way up the the glitter headband that was worn.
"Hello?" She waved her hand. "Aubrey?"

"Oh Uh huh yeah what?"

"Stop looking at me... before I bite you!"

"How would you know I was looking at you... if your eyes weren't on me?"

"Because I'm cool like that."

"You say you're going to bite me?"

"Mhm."

"Do it." He stopped and looked at her.

"Are you still looking at me like that? How about you keep your tongue in your mouth," she joked.

"How?"

"You know how."

"No dear, I'm quite lost as to what you're talking about."

"Whatever babe!" she laughed.
___
He took her arm and walked up to the front door of Mama Sandi's house. He rung the door bell and waited.

"Feels good out here," Nicki said.

"Yes it does."

They waited for a few moments patiently. All the lights were on.

"I wonder what's taking her so long," Drake questioned aloud.

The door opened. "Spoke too soon," Nicki said.

"Hey you two!" Mama Sandi exclaimed pulling Nicki to embrace first and kissing her cheek. "Gorgeous! I love the hair," she added.

"Thanks momma."

And then Drake hugged her and they all went inside the house. "Smells good. Is this that Camomile?" Nicki sniffed the air.

"Actually yes it is! You know your stuff girl. Sit, sit."

"How's bubbie, ma?"

"Oh she's good, she's good."

"Great! She needs to be here more often."

"Well, that's under my control. You know."

Drake huffed. "Yeah."

"So what's going on? You two are being..."

"What ma?" Drake asked l

"It's because we have a little--surprise for you," Nicki asserted.

"Well what is it?"

Nicki searched for her bag. It was near Drake. He assumed that's what she was looking for so he picked the light bag up and handed it to her. "Here."

She took the bag from him and pulled out a hoodie. It was wrapped and folder. Drake grabbed it off her and gave it to his mom so she wouldn't have to get up. As Mama Sandi began to unwrap it, Nicki pulled out something. By then, M.S had nearly unfolded the hoodie. "There's more," Nicki said.

M.S eyes poked out. "I'M GOING TO BE A NANA!?" She screamed and jumped up. Drake and Nicki got up to get inside her open arms. Nicki placed her matching hat on her head. The tears from her eyes dripped down Drake's shirt. She didn't want to get them out her sight.

"Ma? You're crying?"

"I'm so freaking happy! Congratulations you both. I love you."

Late Nights.

Well Well Well. This is the continuation from the "Love" Chapter. Uh, shout out to @LoveWeezyF! Her birthday is tomorrow! Please be sure to wish her a happy birthday :). Here you go > :

"Drake, faster! Come on!"

"I am baby, I'm tired."

"No, let's go. We're almost there. Don't give up."

He groaned as he tried to to pick up his speed. "You're faster than me. I'm about to fall out."

"Hurry, hurry," she inhaled and exhaled, out of breath.

"I'm down. You win." He fell out. Both spent their night at the beach particularly at that moment playing a race game. They wanted to figure out who was fastest and who had recent abilities dealing with energy.
"Oh my gosh! You are out of shape. What happened to you?"

"Yeah I know. The gym is calling my name. Since I've been working, I just ain't had time for nothing."

"Well we need to take a look at our schedule and figure out when we could do this together. It'll be fun."

"Yeah I know. Enjoying your night?"

"Yup babe, you?"

"Oh yeah!"

The waves smashed upon others. They stood still for a moment trapped in the silence. Thousands of stars shined up above, decorating the sky. "Uh, I'll be right over. You can go and relax yourself."

"Okay sweet pea, Bye."

The environment was serene. Calm breeze spread. Full moon. He walked over to her coming back from getting a view of the water. She inspected attentively. Her shoes were taken off by him. A touch from him brought warm chills throughout her self. He sat down beside her, pulling her in between his legs and kissing her neck. His smell was right. His temperature was comforting. He let his chin rest on her shoulder as his arms protected hers. She tilted and turned her head returning a kiss on his nose.
"The moon looks nice, girl."

She gleamed."Yeah. Just right for the night. Babe?"

"Uh huh?"

"I love you."

"I love you more." He reached out his hands and put her on his lap. He pecked her on the lips right before she headed up for his shirt. A wave came over her. Her hands got a hold of his shirt and opened the three buttons. He giggled yet he was still oblivious as to watch she was doing. "What is up?" he  asked watching her lips peeked from out her mouth and traveled to the sides of her mouth. "I'm just... exploring," she giggled.

"Oh okay." She laid the palm of her hand on his shoulder. "Hey. Get up. Let's take a walk along the sand, you know?"

"Okay babe."

He rose first then helped her, giving both his hands. They walked along the beach enjoying the calm breeze. It whammed them in their face. The scent of the ocean entertained their nasal. They interlaced each finger. "Thank you for spending your day with me."

"Oh, you know it's nothing. You deserve it, baby."

She crashed on his bed, stomach on the surface of the covers. Her shoes dropped off her feet. He chuckled taking off his shirt and throwing it in his basket. She inhaled his sheets; they always smelled so good. Rolling over, she started scooting upward. Finally, she brought her suit case over to his place although it was still unpacked. She got up from his bed and went next door to change her clothes while he headed to the shower.
He returned with his shorts on and some black socks. His shirt was still unseen. She playfully whistled at him. Because she was spread out in the middle of his bed, she moved over so he could lay. "Thank you," he said.

"Sure, sure. So what time do you get off?"

"Uh, three."

"You work from nine thirty to three? Ew wee okay. I was thinking you could help with some things."

"Studying? I told you I would."

"Yeah that but that meeting is at five thirty and I have to pick up some things from my house."

"I could still help you. You'll get it done, don't stress. You've already been studying like crazy girl!"

"True, True. Okay thanks babe. You always make me feel better," she yawned. "Goodnight Poo Bear," she whispered calmly in his ear.

"Night Gorgeous, I love you." He kissed her forehead as her smile distended.

The sound of a horn blowing nearby on the street woke the two up. He was warm. The sunlight hit both of their skin. His eyes popped open as he felt brushing on his arm. His head curved to see what was causing this even though he already knew. It was Nicki. Strange thing about it was her eyes were still passed his face. With one of his hands, he reached for her chin and brought her eyes up to his. She kisses his face before stretching and sitting upwards. "Bonjour," she said yawning.

"Morning, you."

"I don't really feel like going to class."

"I agree. I'll fix you some tea and honey, your favorite."

"Aww thanks! That's great."

"Okay you're welcome. I'll be back."

"Alright thanks. I need to get up and get ready. Oh my, what time is it?"

"It's okay. We're early because the alarm didn't go off yet."

She wiped her face, "Oh good. Thanks."

She goes to the bathroom and showers while he fixes her tea. On his way down, he hears continuous scratching at his door. He absolutely knew it wasn't anything too bad living in a safe area. His eyes looked through the peep hole. Not seeing anything, he slowly opened his door to find a little kitten sitting on his mat purring. He examined the cat first before doing anything. Slowly, he closed the door and dodged to the kitchen. A bowl was grabbed and he filled it with some water. He also got the water heated for Nicki's tea. He went back and opened the door, placing the bowl there. Just as he was standing back up, an old man came towards him with a cane. The kitten drank the water graciously. "Emerald," the old man called. His voice shaking and fragile. He came leaning on the rail, taking a seat next to his cat.
"This your cat, sir?" Drake asked.

"Yes. Thanshs for giving him water," he said reaching for the cat. "Come Emerald. Time to go."

"Keep the bowl. Have a nice day!"

"Thanshs. You ta."

Drake shook his head as he closed the door. The water was ready to be used. He grabbed a cup and a tea back from the cabinets and sat them on the counter. The door above him shut as he poured in a little bit of sugar. Finishing pouring the honey in, he grabbed a spoon and went into the living room, sitting the cup on a table nearby. She came down the stairs moments later fully dressed and ready to go.
"Here's your tea. I hope it's not cold now."

She laughed. "I know. My hair just... Thank you for making my tea. I need to go now before I'm late."

"You're driving, you won't be late."

"True, True. But oh! I told Lindsey I would pick her up because she went over her mom's house."

"Ha, okay," he said taking the cup from her. "Let me put this in a mug for you." She grabbed her bags and other items as he did that for her. He came back with one of his special cups. She turned around and nearly bumped into him.

"Aw babe. Your fav. Thank you so much. I love you and I'll see you later." He kissed her lips giving her something to admire while driving to class.

"I love you! Have a nice class."

She frowned and smirked. "I'll try!"
